The Psi-Lords, or Starwatchers, are a superhero team active in the 41st Century. They are descendants of the 20th Century superhero team H.A.R.D. Corps. In the 32nd Century, the H.A.R.D. Corps' Supreme Commander renamed the Corps into the "Starwatchers."
A polyglot of all races, the Psi–Lords developed their own nanotechnology, the Molmachs, and the microscopic machines in their brains contain the Harbinger Powers Database that they call on by mentally willing themselves to have them, a feat that in effect turns them into "Omega Harbingers."

Due to a traumatic event in their past, the Psi–Lords hard–wire a directive into their brains against killing, as well as limit the number of powers each individual can access, a decision that divides them into a caste system made up of three power classes; strength and invulnerability, energy projectors, and scouts. All Psi-Lords belong to one of the following groups:
- Bastion - wearing "red" suits; retaining strength and invulnerability powers;
- Gunners - wearing "orange" suits; with energy projection powers;
- Scouts - wearing "yellow" suits; employing infiltration powers, such as flight and invisibility.
