Microwave, real name Malik Williams, is a member of the B-Squad team at the Harbinger Foundation facility in Bolivar, Missouri. Later, Malik is removed from the team because of their bad influence. Instead he is forced to be part of the Harbinger Space Colony and board the Harbinger Space Shuttle.
