The Komodo Protocol turns the airborne state of Japan into a giant space dragon. In Valiant Comics, the protocol is initiated for the first time so Japan can defend Earth from an alien invasion. In Valiant Entertainment, it is initiated so New Japan can defend itself from a rebellion initiated by Rai, its former spirit guardian, with the help of Lula Lee who dropped a viral bomb into Father's heart.
