Notes[]

  • There are three (and a half) different versions of this trade:
    • One, the regular edition with the Harbinger bird/logo in black. It was poly-bagged with a blue version of Harbinger #0.
    • Two, the "blue bird" edition with the Harbinger bird/logo in blue. This edition was exclusive to Diamond's Star System back-issue program. It was also poly-bagged with a blue version of Harbinger #0. Estimated print run:
    • Three, the Second Printing with the Harbinger bird/logo in black. It has the same content as the regular "black bird" edition, however, it states "Second Print" on the inside cover and it wasn't bagged and came without a copy of Harbinger #0.
    • 2000 copies of the Second Printing were signed and numbered by Jim Shooter alongside 2000 copies of the blue version of Harbinger #0. Both were certificated and distributed together (but not bagged either).
    • Please note that the pink version of Harbinger #0 was only made available through the mail-order coupons that could be found inside Harbinger #1-6. The pink version was then sent out shortly after the release of the trade.
  • Print runs/estimated copies:
    • The regular "black bird" has an estimated print run of 100.000 copies.
    • The "blue bird" has an estimated print run of maybe 10-20.000 copies.
    • The "Second Printing" has an estimated print run of about 15.000 copies
  • There is an introduction written by Gareb S. Shamus, the president/publisher of Wizard Press at the time, about the success and importance of Harbinger #1 for Valiant Comics.
  • There are brief character descriptions of Sting, Kris, Zephyr, Flamingo, and Torque on the last page; see below.
  • Both the introduction and the descriptions are neither reprinted in the Harbinger: The Beginning (August 2007) nor the Valiant Masters: Harbinger: Children of the Eighth Day (March 2015) hardcover books published by Valiant Entertainment.
