The Destroyer is the angry part (or self) of Phil Seleski aka Solar, the Man of the Atom. According to himself he was "the warrior inside the physicist" and "the one responsible for killing all of the Spider-Aliens."
History[]
When Master Darque tried to drive Phil Seleski (aka Solar, the Man of the Atom) insane, Solar split himself in two parts again thus creating the Destroyer.
The two go separate ways so that Phil would finally be able to live a normal life with Gayle Nordheim while the Destroyer would keep chasing the Spider Aliens until they'd all be gone.
